Veterans Assitance: Cpl ShelHammer

Severely Wounded Marine home makeover

This Marine was severely wounded during his third (3rd) combat tour in Iraq. He returned to his home in Arkansas which was "unsafe" to live in. The American Legion iniated the process in April 2007 of a extreme makeover. Two volunteer contactors (One in Arkansas, One in Oakland Tennessee) Both Veterans stepped in to assist this HERO. With the assistance of Volunteers, and Donations of money, manpower and materials, the home has been 90% gutted and is in the process of rebuilding. The new home will be safe, energy efficient, and comfortable for this young couple.

As of the 18th of December 2007 The home is NOT-Complete due to the lack of funding and assistance from the organization that iniated this project.

Both of the supporting contractors have spent countless hours and resources on this mission
